Billy grew up in Longview, Texas and attended Stephen F. Austin State University in Nacogdoches where he obtained both a bachelor’s and master’s degree. Following a successful career in marketing, Billy moved to Houston to attend South Texas College of Law.

Throughout law school, Billy served as an intern at the Harris County District Attorney’s Office. During his final year of law school Billy was selected by the District Attorney’s office to work on the high-profile re-trial of Andrea Yates, the Houston mother accused of drowning her five children.

After law school, Billy was offered a unique and career-changing opportunity with one of Houston’s most famous trial lawyers, Rusty Hardin. While employed at Rusty Hardin & Associates, Billy gained invaluable experience working on both complex civil trials and high-profile criminal defense cases.
